The Traps series (2012–2016) is made using ordinary mousetraps that hold in place emblematic words of contemporary society, cut out from newspaper pages. Embedded in wax and caught by the mechanical device, words such as Facebook become objects, while language itself becomes a mechanism of capture.

Gianluigi Colin (Pordenone, Italy, 1956) is an artist, journalist and critic. He is currently the cover editor of La Lettura, the cultural supplement of Corriere della Sera, where he also writes about art, photography and visual communication.
