ROXI BASA| ANATOMIES OF THE FUTURE

Anatomies of the Future (2025) by Roxi Basa is the video presented as part of Pattern, the edition of Digital Video Wall (DVW)—an annual project curated by Gemma Fantacci, structured in thematic chapters and dedicated to promoting the dissemination and experimentation of digital art. Anatomies of the Future is a speculative exploration of post-human evolution, where the boundaries between biology, technology, and identity dissolve into a new, interconnected existence. Inspired by the hypnotic nature of siphonophores, this project envisions the next stage of human augmentation, where our bodies become modular, fluid, and capable of biocommunicating through light. This immersive video work pays tribute to the beauty of marine symbiosis and transhumanist possibilities, portraying a future in which humans adapt, merge, and evolve beyond individuality.

Roxi Basa is a 3D artist with a background in fashion photography in Paris, currently based in Amsterdam. Her work blends experimental fantasy with bold, unique storytelling, exploring a new visual language. Ethereal, dreamlike, and mystical, her style invites viewers to immerse themselves in alternative realities, where magical and visionary narratives evoke profound emotional responses. Through new technologies, she creates immersive environments that act as portals to unexplored worlds, inviting the audience into a fully sensorial experience. Deeply inspired by nature, innovation, mystery, and the unconventional, Roxi Basa draws from both the visible and the intangible to shape narratives that encourage the exploration of the unknown. At the heart of her practice is the creation of worlds, with each project unfolding as a narrative odyssey, meticulously designed to resonate deeply with those who encounter it.

#PATTERN, 2025

For its sixth edition, Digital Video Wall (DVW) presents *Pattern*, curated by Gemma Fantacci. This thematic chapter explores how digital technologies and artificial intelligence influence our perception of ourselves, our bodies, and personal identity. The title *Pattern* evokes recurring models—traditional standards of beauty and the idea of an enhanced body—but also hints at the possibility of new aesthetic paradigms generated by technological advances. This investigation reflects on the evolution of digital aesthetics, raising the question of whether we are witnessing the consolidation of past ideals or the emergence of new alternative forms. Through a selection of works by international artists, *Pattern* aims to stimulate a critical dialogue on how technology redefines the boundaries of human experience, perception, and representation in the digital age.

With DVW, Metronom offers a dedicated space for showcasing and presenting digital art languages, with the goal of exploring their expressive possibilities and engaging with the complexity of new technologies. The unique position of the DVW, which allows 24/7 outdoor viewing from the street, makes it a privileged exhibition space. The external projection of the works acts as an urban intervention—a window that also serves to reshape and redefine the image of the street through the content displayed.
