EEVA HANNULA



Eeva Hannula (Helsinki, 1983) graduated as a visual artist from the Turku Arts Academy in 2012 and completed her Master's degree in Photography at Aalto University in 2017. She has also studied Aesthetics and Literature at the University of Helsinki and Creative Writing at the Critical Academy in Finland. Exploring the connections between text and images, Hannula creates photo collages, sculptural elements, and visual and written poetry. Through her work, she studies the transformations of digital and physical traces.

Among her most recent exhibitions are: The image was wide and it swayed towards, Forum Box Gallery, Helsinki, FI (2023); There is a possibility in this room to think of the edge and falling over it, Gallery Ratamo Jyväskylä, FI (2021); These are gestures small scenes at hand, Gallery Rajatila, Tampere, FI (2021). Her work has been featured in international festivals including: Athens Photo Festival, Athens, GR (2022); Photobook week Aarhus, Aarhus, DK (2021); Encontros da Imagem Photography Festival, Braga, PR (2021).
In 2019, she published "Amorphous Writings," a book merging visual and written poetry with images.
