KAMILIA KARD

Kamilia Kard (1981) is an artist, curator and teacher born in Milan. After graduating in Political Economy at the Bocconi University in Milan, she obtained a three-year diploma in Painting and a degree in Net Art from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She is currently a PhD student in Digital Humanities at the University of Genoa. She has exhibited in various places including the most recent: Victoria and Albert Museum in London, IMAL in Brussels, Fotomuseum in Winterthur (CH), La Triennale di Milano. He teaches Multimedia Communication at the Brera Academy, digital modeling at the Carrara Academy, multimedia languages at the IED in Venice and Multimedia Design at the IED in Milan.

Her work focuses on the identity in the Internet Era, and it developes through different media, from painting to video and animated gifs, from prints and installation. Her online projects reflect on how to construct an image, a narrative and an identity that interfaces and communicates in both a virtual and a real context. The semiotics and phenomenology created around these works are an expression of a contemporaneity in which the narration is mediated daily and habitually by different interfaces.
